I’m good at loving books. I’m good at loving soft bed sheets. I’m good at loving coffees and teas. I am good at loving things that can’t love me back, that don’t have the power to leave. And maybe, that’s why I love them.
Love is always laughing at their jokes, but still finding laughter in the jokes of others. Love is offering to give up the bigger half of the sandwich. Love is sitting together in the sun all day in silence, yet still feeling like you talked about a million things. Love is the first person you call when you hear good news. Love is remaining calm, even when punches are being thrown your way. Love is talking it out and making a plan for resolution. Love is listening and responding, love is feedback. Love is teamwork to get through it. Love is fixing, not forgetting. Love is homemade chicken soup when you’re sick. Love is trying to look your best every time you see them. Love is sweet nothings at random times. Love is a text good morning, and a text goodnight. Love is crazy, love is simple, love is logical, love is freedom, love is happy, love is laughter, love is warmth; love is us.
